Letter from the Chair

carol-baker-aDear Chamber Members,

Welcome to the Raytown Area Chamber of Commerce!  If you’re a new business owner, an established company or a resident of Raytown, I want to welcome you on behalf of the Chamber.  Our city continues to grow and prosper.  It’s a great time to be part of the community and especially part of the Chamber.

As a lifelong resident of Eastern Jackson County, I’m thrilled to serve as Chair of the Board for 2017.  The board of directors is a diverse group of business representatives and individuals who help ensure the Chamber is moving forward with our members’ best interest in mind.  It’s exciting to see what changes can occur when businesses and individuals partner with the Chamber to create growth and prosperity for our community.

As a business owner, your #1 priority is your business.  It’s no surprise that’s one of the Chamber’s goals, too.  We’re committed to teaming with business owners and individuals to ensure our community flourishes.  And, we do that in a variety of ways from educational and networking opportunities to monthly luncheons and community-wide events.  Of course, your chamber membership also provides access to elected officials at all levels, business referrals, Chamber night at various sporting events and advertising opportunities.

Becoming a member of the Raytown Chamber isn’t enough.  You derive value from your chamber membership by what you put into it.  In other words, get involved in the activities that work best for your schedule and will benefit your business.  If you can’t attend the monthly luncheons, then swing by the monthly A.M. Connections or an After Hours networking event and make some new friends or renew an acquaintance.  Interested in how state and local politics are affected by the Chamber?  Join the Government Relations committee each month.  A ribbon cutting becomes an opportunity for you to make a new business connection.  Your investment in your membership benefits you!

As a resident, the Raytown Chamber is your partner when it comes to resources.  Where else can you call to get information about the your local elected officials, confirm a phone number, get information about starting a business or be referred to one of our many members who provide a service or product.  Contact the Chamber team as we use our strengths and resources to ensure Raytown remains a dynamic and vital economic center.  On behalf of the staff and Board of Directors, we thank you for your continuous support and look forward to partnering together in 2017!
