Letter from the Chair
The Raytown Chamber began serving this community in 1929, much has changed during this period, but one thing hasn’t, the chamber’s commitment to support our business community and desire to enhance the quality of life for our citizens. Working with the Raytown Chamber has allowed me to expand my network of business associates, meet other leaders of the community, and develop friendships with people I might have never met.
As the 2024 Chair of the Raytown Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, I want to challenge you to see how you can help inspire others in our community: reach out to your neighbor, go visit that business you’ve never been in, learn about our community.
Every year the Chamber refers hundreds of callers from businesses, citizens and visitors to its members and only to its members. Chamber members have numerous networking opportunities
available to them: monthly luncheons, morning coffees, ribbon cutting ceremonies, a golf tournament, several community events and after hour functions. Each one of these activities is a chance for you to meet our community leaders, create some business opportunities, solve some problems or just have a great time.
Change is never easy but, it can be rather exciting. I’m sure several of our forefathers that walked down the trail past our current chamber building never envisioned the newly renovated building
complete with solar energy lighting while they traveled West What they did see, was a total team effort from people from all walks of life to meet their goals. We have that opportunity too. Soon people
from all over the world will drive, walk, bike or be bused through our community as they come to root their favorite soccer team. It’s time to start our training as we pull for Team Raytown, and as I see it, the Raytown Chamber of Commerce is a great team captain. I feel honored to be apart of this team and I hope you do too.
Sincerely,
Robert Atkins
2024 Chair of the Board
