On November 16, 1929 the Raytown Chamber of Commerce was incorporated. Over the years the Chamber expanded its boundaries and updated its mission statements and purposes. A new building, totally funded by a capital campaign, was erected at its current site on the corner of 59th and Raytown Trafficway in 1988.
Our boundaries include the 32-square-mile area of the Raytown School District, and beyond. We sit in the heart of the Kansas City, Missouri metropolitan area and serve as a crossroads to many destinations. We are, and will continue to be, a community excited about living, playing or working in this great place we call home. The Raytown Chamber is at the heart of many community activities helping to promote the city of Raytown.
2019 was a milestone year for the Raytown Chamber with an update to our logo and the addition of tourism to the Chamber’s name. The Building Foundation will remodel the building with an emphasis on the outside to reflect the addition of the Rock Island Trail through the front area of the property. A plaza area will allow for those utilizing the trail a place to rest, hydrate and get information about Raytown.
As the Chamber looks forward to its 100th anniversary, we will continue to be an advocate for the businesses in this community, and our focus is on a successful business future. In today’s world, working hard is not enough. You need to work smart, looking for the best opportunities to increase your visibility, and maximize your chances for success. That’s where the Chamber fits into your business plan – membership in the Chamber is one of the wisest investments you will ever make.

As Yogi Berra said, “It’s like déjà vu all over again.” Having been the Chair in 2012 and now again 10 years later, I am sure much will be the same.
Such as Raytown and the Raytown School District is a wonderful place for a business or family to grow. Opportunities are abundant in this first tier suburb, located so close to everything. Whether its ball parks, football, the zoo, or Starlight Theater, we are just minutes away. A city that takes pride in its diversity, community, schools, and fellowship, some things are the same.
But we have a new (er) name, the Raytown Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. With the beautiful Rock Island Trail crossing our city, Historic Rice Tremonti Home, Santa Fe, Oregon, and California trails, many vibrant parks and don’t forget Crane Brewing, we certainly have a great start for a tourism destination.
But our Mission statement is the same, “The Raytown Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism supports our business community to enhance the quality of life for our citizens.”
Every year the Chamber refers hundreds of callers from businesses, citizens and visitors to their members and only their members. Chamber members have many networking opportunities available to them. At monthly luncheons and morning coffees a relaxed atmosphere is created to meet your customers and clients. Community events, golf tournaments, mega office parties, ribbon cutting ceremonies and more often an opportunity for every member to expand their business network and visibility.
The Chamber Government Relations and Advocacy committee helps give the Chamber business a voice in state, local and school district governments. Monitoring what is going on in these areas helps guide our local businesses to new opportunities while keeping members abreast of breaking news in the community. Chamber members also have access to business resources, economic data census information and demographics of the Raytown School district area.
If your business could be helped by providing a positive visible impact in the community, networking with fellow businesses and using all the resources that the Chamber offers, then belonging to the area’s leading member-driven, non-profit, business organization, the Raytown Area Chamber of Commerce is a perfect fit for you and your business.
I encourage you to keep this directory handy and use it to help support your fellow Chamber members. If you cannot find what you are looking for in this directory let us know and we will reach out to that business to join our successful members and include them in next years’ opportunity-filled directory.
Please take advantage of everything the Chamber has to offer!
